  • São Paulo’s attacks mainly on the right side, Antony and Igor Vinícius very active in that region.
  • Pato was very isolated and was not involved in most of the action.
  • Botafogo had all players involved in several passes, but was very unproductive and could only shot from far away.

Atlético MG 2 x 1 Avaí:

  • Ricardo Oliveira remains as Atlético’s the main offensive weapon. It is interesting to see that he receives most of passes from the fullbacks, Fábio Santos and Guga.
  • Chará and Geuvânio seem to be good options to help the team offensively, they were very active in this match.
  • Avaí offered very little danger. The paraguayan striker Feliciano Brizuela (who was subbed in during the second half) was very distant from the rest of the team and did not contribute to the play creation.

Chapecoense 2 x 0 Internacional:

  • Chapecoense did not have as many dangerous as usual. Normally, the team has higher shot volume when playing at the Arena Condá.
  • The goalkeeper Tiepo had a great performance and was crucial in Chapecoense’s victory.
  • Inter’s reserve players was able to create significant chances and involve several players. The shot accuracy will improve once the typical starters play.
  • Rafael Sóbis, although already more experienced, continues being very active in the game. He will be a very useful option to Colorado during this year.

Flamengo 3 x 1 Cruzeiro:

  • Bruno Henrique, who plays for Flamengo, has been performing very well as a center forward. He is the player who shot the most this week (7 shots) and scored 2 goals.
  • Flamengo can attack with many quality players, and one of the main reasons for this is Cuéllar. The Colombian midfielder gives incredible defensive support and stability.
  • Cruzeiro, who was unbeaten this year until this match, had a below expectations performance. It was the team with the least total shots in the first week (2 shots).

Grêmio 1 x 2 Santos:

  • In this week’s best match, the efficiency and intelligence of Sampaoli’s Santos beat the intensity shot volume of Renato Gaucho’s Grêmio.
  • Grêmio was the team that shot the most this week (24 shots) and had several high quality chances  from inside the box. This outlines the great performance of Santos’ goalkeeper that made Vanderlei.
  • Everton and André paired up interestingly, both creating and finishing plays.
  • Santos with 3 defenders and fullbacks that help in defense but have freedom to attack. This is proven by the fact that Felipe Jonatan, the right back, was the Santos player with the most shots (and even scored a goal).

Bahia 3 x 2 Corinthians:

  • Corinthians’ main offensive weapon was Clayson, he has been one of the most prominent players in the most recent games. In addition, Ramiro played an well, appearing often in the attack.
  • Boselli has failed to be a substitute for Gustavo (who is injured), he shot only once and with little danger.
  • In Bahia, the role of the fullbacks seem to be decisive in the team model, often receiving and completing passes with all players in middle and attack. Nino Paraíba, the leftback, provides crucial offensive support.
  • Artur, Artur Caike and Ramires are very interesting players and had a great game offensively, we will probably hear more about them throughout the season.

Athletico PR 4 x 1 Vasco:

  • Athletico PR attacks with practically 7 players, always with players wide open, which guarantee amplitude. Very high shot volume.
  • Bruno Guimarães is one of the most interesting players in Brazil currently, he is very important in creating plays for Athletico and has a lot of potential.
  • Marrony created the most for Vasco, almost all the team’s chances were on the left side, where he was positioned.
  • Maxi Lopez could participate and shot very little given he is a goal scoring center forward. He was replaced by Ribamar at the 60th minute.

Ceará 4 x 0 CSA:

  • Ceará has plenty of strength when attacking through the right wings, with Leandro Carvalho and Samuel Xavier.
  • Ricardo Bueno was one of the individual highlights of the first week, the center forward managed to be very present inside the box and converted the chances the had.
  • CSA created very little, team need to risk more if they want to continue in Série A.

Palmeiras 4 x Fortaleza:

  • Felipe Melo acted practically as a 3rd defender, in the same line of Gustavo Gómez and Luan.
  • Zé Rafael had his best match for Palmeiras, and contributed to the large number of shots inside the box.
  • Felipe dictated the Fortaleza’s playmaking, but the team almost couldn’t find spaces for quality shots.
  • Most Fortaleza chances were from outside the box and without danger.

Fluminense 0 x 1 Goiás:

  • Fluminense, coached by Fernando Diniz, had a lot of passes but poor shots.
  • Pedro will help the team to convert chances once he returns to the team.
  • Goiás did not have a high pass volume, the team relied heavily on Giovanni Augusto in order to create plays.
